Greenroom136 Quickdraw Review

In looking for camera bag that didn't look like a camera bag, I stumbled across the Quickdraw. I've had it for about a year now and thought about giving a fast and simple review.

Pros

The mouth opens wide for a sling bag. Really wide. No issues finding anything in it.

It fits a buttload of items. When bringing a camera it fits the Kitpouch S, Greenroom136's offered camera insert.

A gripe I have is that there's a small underutilised space above the Kitpouch if you're using it. One of these days I'll get around to 3D printing some kind of spacer below so that I can put use up all the space in the bag.

With a small modification, it even carries a whole tripod. It becomes a bit heavy and unwieldy, but it's so convenient you could overlook it.

It's water resistant, but not waterproof. Excellent for rain but don't go swimming with it. On a trip to Phuket, I rode one of these boats:

When getting on, they splash seawater onto you and your bags to wash off the sand. I trusted the bag, but I'm guessing some water leaked through the seams. The innards was mostly dry with some damp sections, but my passport got wet. 3/10, would not gamble again.

The bag is durable. It's been thrown around, tossed onto concrete and it seems fine.

All in all I would say the functionality it provides much outweighs the cons, which I'll get to in a bit. In a pinch, it even serves as a decent pillow.

Cons

The zippers jingle A LOT. Replaced them.

I don't really like the boxy cushioned look of typical camera bags. The Quickdraw came in a bit stiff and boxy looking, but thankfully after a bit of time it looks less square. I also wished they still offered the BYD editions of the bag.

The straps suck. They're uncomfortable and they're really slippery. Whatever position you put them on your shoulders, they'd slide down or around. I replaced them with some cheap straps off China and wished I did that earlier.

When I'm out taking pictures, one hand is occupied with a camera. If I need to zip the bag, sometimes it zips down too much. When it does that, it's slightly cumbersome to pull back the zipper with one hand. I thus fixed it to prevent the zipper from overshooting.

The stitching on some parts of the bag seem rough on the edges.

All in all, mostly minor things and personal preferences.

TLDR

Pretty good and worth your dollar.
